Oak Tree Accepts Prosthetic Limb

Washington NC — Someone nailed a salt-treated 4X4 between a couple of oak trees some years back. The tree decided to do what it could to accept the new limb as its own by growing around it.

Forty years ago, Uncle Ric’s Photo Oddities was an irregular (in more than one sense) feature in The Washington Daily News.
